Another angle. There is an argument to be made that police reform isn’t enough, or can even hurt communities most effected by police violence. There’s an argument, also, that reform allows for standards of practice, and accountability. Regardless, it’s my belief that at the end of the day, abolition of an ineffective, cruel, and corrupting structure, and replacing it with a compassionate, accountable, community organized framework is the goal.
