The list is so long, and it happened so many times that I probably don’t even remember everything. Because it was considered “normal.” “Boys being boys.” Or I was in shock and laughed it off, or I was scared to upset them.

The list goes on and on…

I’m glad we’re living in a time when these things are being taken a bit more seriously, but we’re still a long way from actually feeling safe. And the amount of trauma so many of us carry because of these experiences? That’s some BS.

You can tell how happy this song makes me by the way my lips curl when I smile. I’m so delighted hahaha 🎶
So thankful for music, especially R&B cuts like this one by Donnell Jones that really get me in my feelings!!
I’ll put it on my Soundcloud tonight!

18 years ago, I learned one of my first lessons about being a woman in the music industry.

When I released my first EP, SnowBunni, a local music publication wrote about me as a “model-turned-singer” who basically used her body to sell records.

The irony? I had been singing and writing songs since I was 9 years old. Music came first. Modeling came later.

And just a few months before this article, that same publication had put me on the cover of their magazine when my single was getting radio play.

At the time, I didn’t have the perspective I have now. I was young, trying to figure myself out, trying to make music, and trying to understand why people seemed so determined to reduce me to what I looked like.

It affected me. A lot.

And this was only the beginning of years of trying to navigate a male-dominated music industry where being a woman, being attractive, being sexual, being a performer, and being a serious musician were constantly treated like they couldn’t all exist at the same time.

Fast forward 18 years and I’m still making music.

I’m a DJ. I’m a producer. I’m an artist. I’m a performer.

And yes, sometimes I DJ in a bikini.

But my body has never been a substitute for the music.

It’s possible to be sexy AND talented. Feminine AND serious about your craft. A performer AND a musician.

And honestly, I’m still learning how to own all of those things without letting other people’s perceptions define me.

This is one chapter of a much longer story.

Follow along because there’s a LOT more to this story.

One of my favorite things about traveling as a DJ + content creator is figuring out how to turn a beautiful space into an entire content experience.

From the lobby and the room, to the view, my full DJ livestream setup, going LIVE, the pool at night, the pool during the day, and all the little spaces in between… this is what a work trip looks like for me.

I don’t just travel with a suitcase. I travel with my DJ gear, cameras, livestream equipment, lighting, and everything I need to create content and broadcast a full DJ set from wherever I’m staying.

And honestly… hotels, resorts, villas, rooftops, pool decks and unique hospitality spaces make AMAZING livestream locations. 🎶🌴

Imagine:
🎧 Live DJ sets from a hotel pool
🌅 Sunset Afro House sessions
🏨 Hotel room + property content
🌴 Poolside livestreams
📹 Behind-the-scenes creator content
🎥 Short-form travel + lifestyle videos
🎶 Music + hospitality collaborations
✨ Branded content for hotels & resorts
🌎 Destination livestream experiences

I’m always looking for unique properties and destinations that want to collaborate on creating something bigger than a traditional hotel stay.

If you’re a hotel, resort, villa, boutique property, rooftop, beach club or hospitality brand looking for a DJ + content creator who can bring the music, production, livestream, audience and content… let’s talk.
