Dear CSA Members,

We’ve been informed of instances in which online scam artists, pretending to be CSA Casting Directors, have asked actors for money to pay for flights, screen tests, etc., have asked actors to make sexually inappropriate self-tapes, or have tried to get them to divulge personal information. Since Casting Directors tend to avoid the spotlight in deference to the other members of the creative team, corroborating the validity of a project or a request can be difficult for a non-professional. Communication is the key to fighting this fraud. These actions are unethical, often illegal, and run counter to CSA's commitment to the highest of ethical standards. We take this issue very seriously and affirm that anyone fraudulently representing themselves as a CSA member or otherwise using the CSA initials without permission may be subject to civil prosecution.
