One of my all time favorite quote is by Emily Dickenson ”If you take care of the small things, the big things take care of themselves.”

I like this quote because because it emphasizes the importance of paying attention to the details and taking care of the small things, as they can have a significant impact on the outcome of a larger task or goal. By focusing on the small things, you can prevent potential problems or obstacles from arising, which ultimately leads to a smoother and more successful outcome.

Additionally, the quote highlights the idea that success is often the result of consistent and deliberate effort over time, rather than relying on one grand, sweeping action. It encourages you to take a step-by-step approach and not get overwhelmed by the bigger picture, but rather break it down into manageable pieces. This mindset can be helpful in achieving long-term goals and developing positive habits, as it allows for a sense of progress and momentum to be built up over time.

When I write songs, I often find myself getting lost in the big picture and forgetting to attend to the smaller details. It’s easy to become overwhelmed with all the choices and possibilities, causing me to lose sight of the trees for the forest. However, I’ve learned that breaking things down and taking a step-by-step approach can make a project much more manageable. By focusing on the smaller elements, I am able to build a strong foundation and create a polished final product.

Like music production, it is a complex process that involves many different elements, from songwriting and composition to recording, mixing, and mastering. Each of these steps involves attention to detail and careful planning to ensure a successful outcome. By focusing on each small step in the production process and taking care of the details, you can avoid mistakes or issues that could derail the overall project.

The day my band and I stepped into the recording studio was a day I’ll never forget. My excitement and nerves were at an all-time high, but as we got started, I realized I was completely in over my head. I had no technical knowledge of the recording equipment or how to communicate my vision to the engineer. It was like trying to speak a foreign language without knowing any of the words.

Despite the initial confusion, we eventually found our footing and began to work on our song. Looking back now, I can see that we were woefully unprepared. At that time the session felt super anxious because we were trying to figure out what was going on. The studio felt like a pressure cooker, the tension mounting with each passing moment. We fumbled around aimlessly, desperate for direction, throwing out idea after idea without any real sense of purpose or cohesion. The hours slipped away, a blur of wasted time and precious resources, as we struggled to find our way through the mire of uncertainty and confusion.

But in the end, we managed to piece together a rough version of our song, and I felt a sense of pride in what we had accomplished. However, as I left the studio that day, I knew that I needed to learn more about music production. I became obsessed with the technical aspects of recording and mixing, spending every free moment reading books and watching tutorials. It was from that day on that I knew I wanted to take control of our music and become a producer in my own right.

Today, I use my expertise in music production to help other artists create their music more efficiently, without experiencing the same struggles and time-wasting obstacles that I had to overcome. More specifically, I help them organize their project during the pre-production phase. I make sure they can communicate their artistic vision clearly to their producers, so that when they enter the studio, they’re fully prepared to bring their musical ideas to life.

Hey internet, I’m Tyler. Have we met?!
Just wanted to welcome you to my profile since it’s been a while since I’ve introduced myself and what I do!

As a music producer, I enjoy working with various artists in organizing and completing their songs. In addition to working with the artists and musicians, I also collaborate with a variety of other professionals, including recording engineers, mixing engineers, and mastering engineers, to ensure that the technical aspects of the production are handled properly.
Recently, I have focused on providing songwriters with one-on-one pre-production coaching to help them save time and money during studio sessions.
