"Da-da-da dum!" We've still got that theme stuck in our head from Beethoven's Fifth Symphony.

Anna Handler conducted that ferocious work along with Beethoven's Triple Concerto—featuring Acting Concertmaster Bing Wang, Principal Cello Robert deMaine, and keyboardist Joanne Pearce Martin—and the US premiere of "ABLAZE THE MOON" by Grace-Evangeline Mason (pictured on slides 3-4).

We can't wait to see more of Anna Handler when she officially takes on her new role as Conductor-in-Residence of the LA Phil. Her three-year term begins during the 2026/27 season at Walt Disney Concert Hall! Check out Handler's upcoming programs at laphil.com.

We spent four big nights celebrating Gustavo Dudamel and his 17 years as Music & Artistic Director, with he and the orchestra playing classics of the repertoire, collaborating with a whole bunch of very special guests, and raising money for a good cause. We kicked off the first of our Celebrating Gustavo Dudamel concerts at the Bowl with Beethoven's Ninth Symphony and the world premiere of Michael Giacchino's "Hymns of the Heart" featuring Amanda Gorman, Los Angeles Master Chorale, YOLA (Youth Orchestra Los Angeles), Los Angeles Children's Chorus, Education Through Music-Los Angeles, and an incredible lineup of singers were all there for the big event!
