We just opened a handful of applications for this season, with more coming soon, so let’s talk about racer applications. From eligibility to the story that makes your application stand out, we’re walking you through all of it.

Quick rundown:
🐾 All kinds of pups welcome (within eligibility requirements), no racing experience needed
🩷 Know your dog, this isn’t the right fit for every pup, and that’s okay
📋 Corgi eligibility: breed, spay/neuter, current vaccines
🙋 Handlers must be 18+ and able to keep control on the field
🤝 Race days have a lot of downtime, so we use that time to get to know one another and each others pups

Pro tip: we love a good story. Longtime fan? Season ticket holder? Dog named after someone on the team? City or community connection? Tell us all about it.

Every race, we get hundreds of applications for just a handful of spots. It’s not easy to narrow down, our lineups are curated for a mix of stories, personalities, and pure corgi energy. So we’re breaking down exactly what we look for, from eligibility requirements to the little details that help your application stand out.

A day at the races! 🏁



Arrive before game time to do a production walkthrough. Make sure all the handlers get a feel for the field and where they need to be!

Racers arrive and say hello! So many new friends to meet!

LSR swag bag time! Racers get some exclusive swag and racer certificates!

Walking over to the venue. Between the start of the game and halftime racers and handlers hang out and get ready for the races!

Here we go! Racers and handlers take the field and lineup for their heats! Such a fun feeling stepping out on the field and all the fans cheering on the corgis!

Watching from the sideline. We had two heats and a championship race for this event. Racers wait for their heat and get excited!

Locked in. Racers and releasers are race ready. At this point your heart is beating fast (maybe a little nervous) but the feeling is incredible!

Race time!! Two heats, top two finishers advance to the championship race where a champion is crowned.

Anything can happen in these races. Corgis can be fast, not so fast, run the wrong way or not run at all. Expect the unexpected.

Most importantly, have fun! (Don’t take it too seriously)

Celebrate the champion! Captain wins gold!

Say hi to the fans! Everyone loves the corgi races and it truly is an event that brings so much joy and happiness!
