CALL FOR ENTRIES
Moving Target: NELA in Transition
Moving Target invites artists, architects, urban planners and activists to consider the changing face of Northeast Los Angeles.
We seek work that explores a variety of approaches onto the subject: the human aspect of a changing area, concrete infrastructural, architectural and design changes to the urban landscape, or new emerging communities and behaviors. What does it mean for NELA to be an area in transition (and does this automatically mean gentrification?) How do we relate to the area as it transforms? What do we miss--or what further changes do we desire?
Moving Target is interested in projects, graphic narratives, essays (from 500-1000 words), interviews, photography and artwork of any media, as well as experiential projects such as walking tours. Moving Target encourages the submission of pieces of historic interest as well as artistic, analytic and speculative work. Moving Target will be shown at the Bike Oven from August 7-September 30 with an opening reception on August 9. There is no fee for entry.
