Hailing from Frankfurt, Germany and raised in the Washington, D.C. Metropolitan area, Daunté Fyall (President/Founder) is an amazing Instructor, Dancer, Choreographer that captivates his audience every time he sets foot in a classroom or on stage! Studying various styles of dance since a child, he cultivated and honed his West African Dance training with no other than Baba Assane Konte of the nati

on's premiere and long standing company: KANKOURAN West African Dance. With KANKOURAN, Daunté has performed at several venues such as The Kennedy Center, Constitution Hall, several Smithsonian Museums/Institutions, TBAAL (The Black Association of Arts and Letters) of Dallas, TX. and
The White House of the United State of America, just to name a few. Daunté has even graced the beautiful streets of Trinidad at the countries Annual Emancipation Festival. Now residing in Los Angeles, CA, he has truly furthered his training and performance repertoire. He was honored be accepted into the Summer Intensive Program at the Debbie Allen Dance Academy, to receive repertory training, and to perform in one of LA's premiere showcases "Debbie Allen's: Hot Chocolate Nutcracker. He has partnered/performed with several major organizations/venues such as SAG AFTRA, The Ford Theatre, the OWN Network., and etc. He currently facilitates West African Dance workshops and lectures within the Southern California region and he instructs the only Donation-Based Traditional West African Dance Class in the City of Los Angeles under his community-based organization: DAANSEKOU. His belief is that if you tackle any task with" ..good heart and good intention.."

The harmful racial post we’ve addressed is still up, and Steve Houbeck remains appointed to the Urban Forestry Advisory Committee. THIS THURSDAY, February 26 at 6:00 PM, we have an opportunity to speak during public comment at the Joint Commission and Committee meeting.

We believe someone who engages in and defends racist rhetoric should not serve in our city government.

Arrive by 5:45 PM to fill out a speaker slip.

Check OPPOSE and state: Removal of Steve Houbeck from the UFAC due to harmful racist rhetoric. (No address or phone number required.)

This is about dignity, accountability, and the kind of community we want our children growing up in.
