No a.i. prompt can help me express the depth of my love and appreciation for the musical connection I share with these two Brothers right here.

I have made SO MUCH music with Tony Austin and Cameron Graves over the years. I mean… Thousands of hours on stage, and Terabytes of recorded material, and yet every time we step into a creative space together something inspirational occurs, something challenges and redefines how dope the DOPE can get.

For +magic: Los Angeles I wanted to make an album that started right at the brink of wild creation, beyond the written page. Began in the middle and expanded. Because, if one thing is for certain, we ALWAYS shine “down there in the engine room” where the song is relinquished from its structure of preconceived ideas and fed to our improvisational hunger.

We are more exposed as a trio on this album than on any other recording, yet we swam smoothly together through this album process. It was to no surprise, for with every year that has passed, from High School onward, we’ve become more and more efficient in our language of expression. We share deeper thoughts with fewer words.
It’s been a badge of honor to cultivate a musical lineage with them, and to represent our city as a rhythm section with an unmistakable sound.
