For years, Wednesday nights in Evansville, Indiana, meant professional wrestling at the Coliseum. And when the matches were over, there was one place you could count on finding some of the boys: Roca Bar Pizza.

Dusty Rhodes, Bill Dundee, and plenty of others made their way there after the shows. It was a popular local hangout, but it also became part of the wrestling scene in a town where the fans took their wrestling seriously.

Jim Cornette has spoken about just how much heat the wrestlers could generate in Evansville, recalling occasions when police escorts were needed to get them safely out of town. Those were different days, when what happened inside the ring could follow a wrestler long after the show ended.

This terrific photograph of Dusty Rhodes and Bill Dundee together at Roca Bar comes to us courtesy of Book Pro Wrestlers reader Nik Merrell, who shared a little of the restaurant’s history with us.

Nik also told me something I particularly enjoyed hearing. He and his brother regularly send each other photographs and stories they find on our page.

This particular photograph has quite a story behind it. Two of wrestling’s most influential minds, sitting together at a pizza restaurant in Evansville, back when the territory system was still very much alive.

My thanks to Nik for sharing this one with us. If you’ve got old wrestling photographs or firsthand stories of your own, we’d love to see them. Some of the best history we’ve shared on this page has come directly from our readers.

Family photo at WrestleMania 3 in The Pontiac Silverdome in Detroit, Michigan.

Less was more and the Kayfabe era was in full effect. There was nothing else on tv like pro wrestling. Hulk Hogan vs Andre The Giant was must see.

Thanks to our reader, Shane Fame Alexander (holding a Bobby “The Brain Heenan LJN here) for sending this in. If you have pictures or stories, we would love to see and share them with the page!

Randy Savage losing an arm-wrestling match to 10-year-old Jamason Levy, a young patient at All Children’s Hospital (now John Hopkins in St. Petersburg, Florida).

Randy was famous for these visits — showing up unannounced, bringing joy to kids who needed it most. He’d smile, joke, and lose every arm-wrestling match on purpose — not because he had to, but because it made the kids feel like heroes.

Jamason later found this post as a reader of our page and he shared with me the moment right here on Book Pro Wrestlers. He remembered whispering to Randy, “Hulk Hogan sucks,” and Randy laughed so hard he let him win.

Jamason told us about his childhood battle with hemophilia, long hospital stays, and how this single encounter with Savage became one of his best memories. Today, Jamason is doing well — he’s gone on to study music production and mixing and hopes to one day create entrance themes for wrestlers.

Randy Savage didn’t just inspire millions on TV — he touched lives in hospital rooms, one child at a time.

We’re proud that Jamason Levy — that same young fan in this photo made great strides in his health and is now a reader and part of our Book Pro Wrestlers community.

The view from the seventeenth row in the Pontiac Silverdome, Hulk Hogan vs Andre The Giant at WrestleMania 3.

Not the camera angle you’ve seen replayed for nearly 40 years… this is the real view. The one surrounded by a sea of people, all on their feet, all feeling the moment at the same time.

A fan sent this to me and gave me the okay to share it. His perspective of what many still consider the defining moment in wrestling history.

You can almost hear it just looking at this photo.

Over 90,000 people packed into that building, and for those few seconds… everything stopped. The match and the slam that followed wasn’t just a move—it was a moment that changed the business forever.

HULK HOGAN AND RODDY HOGAN — TWO MEN WHO BROUGHT HULKAMANIA TO GENERATIONS OF FANS, DIED JUST DAYS APART.

For years, children in the Detroit area didn’t have to buy a ticket to WrestleMania to experience a little Hulkamania. All they had to do was wait for the ice cream truck to come down their street.

Behind the wheel was a man known as Roddy Hogan.

Roddy wasn’t a professional wrestler. He was an ice cream truck driver who loved Hulk Hogan, and he found his own way to share that love with an entire community.

His truck was decorated in Hulkamania colors. He wore the familiar bandana, sunglasses and sleeveless shirt. Hulk Hogan’s music played as he drove through neighborhoods selling ice cream, including those unforgettable WWF ice cream bars.

Imagine being a kid growing up in Detroit during the height of Hulkamania and seeing that truck coming down your street.

For those children, Roddy wasn’t just the ice cream man. He was their own neighborhood Hulk Hogan.

And what makes his story especially remarkable is how it ended.

In July 2025, Hulk Hogan passed away. That very same week, Roddy Hogan passed away as well.

Two men whose lives couldn’t have been more different, connected by a character that became part of American popular culture.

Hulk Hogan entertained millions around the world. Roddy took a little piece of that excitement into the neighborhoods of Detroit, where children could experience it right outside their front doors.

I think there’s something wonderful about that.

We spend so much time remembering the wrestlers who made an impact on our childhoods that we sometimes overlook the people who helped make those memories special.

Roddy Hogan was one of those people.

And somewhere in Detroit, there are grown men and women who can still remember being little kids, hearing that music coming down the street, and running outside to see the Hulkster’s ice cream truck.

What a wonderful way to be remembered.

Rest in peace, Hulk Hogan and Roddy Hogan.

VINCE McMAHON HAS CHARGES DISMISSED — CASE OFFICIALLY CLOSED FOLLOWING 2025 CAR CRASH

Former WWE Chairman Vince McMahon received some favorable legal news today, October 15, as the charges stemming from his July 2025 automobile accident in Connecticut have officially been dismissed.

The incident occurred on July 24, 2025, when McMahon was driving his 2024 Bentley Continental on the Merritt Parkway in Westport, Connecticut. According to state police, McMahon was traveling at more than 100 mph before striking the rear of another vehicle. His Bentley subsequently collided with a guardrail, and debris from the accident affected a third vehicle.

Despite the extensive damage, nobody suffered serious injuries.

McMahon was cited for reckless driving and following too closely. In October 2025, a Connecticut judge approved his participation in a one-year accelerated rehabilitation program, allowing him to avoid prosecution provided he met certain conditions.

Those conditions included making a $1,000 charitable contribution, maintaining proper licensing and insurance while driving, and staying out of further legal trouble for one year.

According to PWInsider, McMahon successfully completed the program, and both charges were officially dismissed today, bringing the case to a close.

The dismissal is another favorable legal development for the 81-year-old McMahon, who has remained largely removed from the professional wrestling business since his departure from WWE and TKO in 2024.

McMahon continues to face separate civil litigation unrelated to the automobile accident.

Before the world ever knew her as Nancy Sullivan or Woman, she was just a high school kid with big dreams — already standing shoulder-to-shoulder with legends.

That’s Nancy here with Terry Funk.

Just a young woman already finding her place in a business that would eventually shape her life — and leave an impression on wrestling history that still matters today.

Nancy had something you couldn’t teach — presence, heart, and a natural connection to wrestling that followed her from those early days all the way through some of the most memorable eras of the business. Long before national exposure, long before major storylines, she was already part of the fabric.

We were connected to this photo through Michael, who runs a tribute page dedicated to Nancy’s career. That connection began during a difficult time, when Nancy’s sister Sandra was hospitalized at Mayo Clinic following a serious fall. What started as a simple outreach turned into an opportunity to help preserve Nancy’s story and share moments like this with all of you.

Huge thank you to Jim Daus, her first husband for helping make this photo available.

Nancy deserves to be remembered for her journey and her contribution that so many of us loved and still enjoy.

JBL sitting back with his cowboy boots kicked up on the table while Ron Simmons and Tony Atlas share a good laugh.

Tony Atlas was one of the biggest stars of his generation. Ron Simmons made history as the first recognized Black WCW World Heavyweight Champion, and JBL went from years on the road alongside Simmons in the APA to becoming WWE Champion.

Between the three of them, you’re looking at decades of experience, thousands of matches, and more stories than any of us will probably ever hear.

I’ve always appreciated this side of the wrestling business. These men spent much of their lives traveling from town to town, putting their bodies through tremendous punishment, and sharing experiences that most people could never understand.

And after all those years, here they are, still enjoying each other’s company and having a good laugh.
