’s The Deer of Nine Colors is a cyber-futuristic retelling of a Buddhist folktale in which a nine-colored deer saves a drowning merchant, only to be betrayed by the merchant’s greed.

In Huang’s three-channel video, a Thai trans woman retraces her past life as a Schomburgk’s deer—an extinct species from Thailand—on a quest for her true name.

Spend the summer solstice dancing to a DJ performance by pioneering electronic artist Richie Hawtin (aka Plastikman) and celebrating the cycle of john gerrard’s solar artwork SPIRITS. The evening will include a large-scale installation and a live performance of SPIRITS.

↑ Francis Bacon was one of the most influential artists of the 20th century. In this life-size triptych, he portrays his friend and rival, artist Lucian Freud

Bacon remarked in 1973, “Even though the face is very abstract and contorted I think I caught a real likeness of Lucian… Freud sat like that and wore his clothes like that.”
