If you're a hip Angeleno, you know about The World Stage in Leimert Park. It is referred to as Billy Higgins' House(look it up for an educ), and it is the most soulful, welcoming music and literary venue that Ive ever encountered...So if you are truly hip, you wouldve been there either last Fri or Sat night, or both!
Fri Aug 28, Alto sax Master Mike Monford brought his hard swingin' band to The Stage and they cooked!!!!! With masters tenor saxophonist Salim Washington, Teodross Avery(soprano sax), bassist Trevor Ware, Genghis Don(drums) and pianist Joshua Wellington Wong!!!! many thanks!!!
