I know that marriage isn’t for everyone, but if it is…it’s true what they say: it’s one of the most important decisions you’ll ever make 🙂‍↕️

My husband is my biggest fan, supporter, and motivator. He’s pushed me toward so many pivotal moments in my life like starting my music career in my mid 30s. And told me to download to get that music making going. Which led me to finally post this Rock the Boat mashup I’ve been sitting on for almost 2 years!!!

And with that, my first mix, blending Aaliyah’s Rock the Boat and Janet Jackson’s Got ‘Til It’s Gone is now live on SoundCloud 🤩 (link in bio). I’m already plotting how I’ll eventually flip this into a house mix, but ima keep playing around and experimenting for now.

Decided to switch up the vibe by filming a deep house and Afro house set in Joshua Tree desert this summer. I am so painfully slow when it comes to editing, on top of my lack of time between work and DJ gigs, but here we are!

I know that some of you will come for me in the comments but idc 🙃

I used to be soooOooo focused on views and follower count that I missed the plot. I’m not saying these metrics don’t matter, but in many cases, all it takes is 1 post or even person to catch you at the right place and right time.

I go long stretches where I feel like none of my content hits and no one gives af, but I still post and show up as my authentic self because I know eventually it’ll find the right people - because we can’t forget that it already has.

I challenge my fellow creatives to do the same. So even when our posts flippity flop, keep putting yourself out there, don’t get discouraged, and know that the right people will find you exactly when they’re meant to 🤍✨

House music lovers are one of the few groups who will show up, not know the DJ, know less than half the songs, yet will dance all night, with no song requests, and will have time of their lives.

House music people are my people 🫶🏾

Last night I played at Tea & House and we went on a JOURNEY! One of the most beautiful journeys of my career thus far. I put 110% of my heart and soul into that set and for it to be received with such love, care, and joy…I’m so grateful 🥹
