Every time I step behind my DJ deck I say a little prayer and thank you to God and my ancestors for guiding me and bringing music into my life in such a meaningful way. I love playing black music, sharing black music, and dancing to black music - Juneteenth or not.

And with that, I’m sharing a video of me in complete flow state at a pool party I DJ’d at the last weekend. I went into my set more improvisational than usual deciding that I’d let my body, the crowd, and my intuition guide me. This led to a beautiful blend of Pop Dat Thang by & Dick Control by

First Palm Springs pool party with the in the books!!!

Idk if it’s the Ta**us in me, but I’m meant to DJ outside basking in the sun!! Even in 110 degree desert heat 🔥

The icing on the cake was constantly being asked if I’m DJing !!! Soooo I hope they see this because I’m available!!!

j & friends is nothing with you. And so many others not captured because you were dancing, lounging, and enjoying. The way ya’ll showed up for me, .nish and , it’s hard to put into words how grateful we are for each and everyone of you 🤍

BUILD IT AND THEY WILL COME - my exact thoughts when creating the .j beach club 😌

With the help of .beach, I created a beach club for my community. We had female DJs, free food, drinks, dancing, incredible house music, and immaculate vibes all afternoon ✨

I’m not sure why LA is lacking in beach clubs (I need to do more research), but I’m working to change that. There was something so healing and special about bringing people together while dancing in the sand, with the backdrop of the ocean. It was an afternoon where strangers became acquaintances, community was built, and for a few hours, we danced and laughed our troubles away.

If you missed this round, don’t worry - another .j party will be back before you know it. And next time, bigger and better than ever. Stay tuned! 🤍

The .j & friends beach party was truly IMMACULATE 🥹✨

From the weather, the beach club set up by .beach, the music played by some of the dopest female DJs in LA, but most importantly, OUR COMMUNITY who showed up and showed out - it was a dream!

When the general feedback from your guests is: “I really needed this” and “today healed me” or “I met so many new people”…this is all I needed to solidify that the .j party series is something special.

Sunday couldn’t have happened without the following people:

The icing on the cake was going home with some goodies that I can’t wait to wear for my .j and friends beach party this Sunday!!!
