I just wanna shout out every drummer who has toured with me, played in churches, rehearsed for hours, and showed up service after service just to see God’s people get set free.

And to the drummers carrying both the mainstream stage and the church assignment with integrity, excellence, and humility — I see you. People don’t always understand the sacrifice, but your gift matters. Your consistency matters. Your obedience matters.

Thank you for the late nights, the soundchecks, the worship moments, the small churches, the arenas, and every time you played through exhaustion to help create an atmosphere where lives could change.

Nights like this remind me why I love this industry. Watching Shanice command that stage in 44 Obama Musical was everything. Being there with my sis Coko just made it feel like family. We celebrate each other around here! Always have. Always will. That’s the culture.

The first time I sang this song, I was a completely different man. I still had parents and grandparents living. The stakes weren’t as high when everyone I loved was still here.

Now I sing it with a completely different conviction — from a place of power and experience. The pandemic shifted everything. I went from only knowing God as my Father… to knowing Him as a big brother. An emotionally mature friend. The way I’m vibing with Him now has me rethinking everything I thought I knew.

And I want to be clear — I’m not a religious person. Religion divides more than it unites. This is personal. Tangible. Real. Something I’m experiencing even as I type this. One question I hear often is “Can you do just one more gospel project?” also then recently there are people using their platforms to spread misinformation that I no longer sing gospel as B.Slade. I’ve always been a multi-genre artist and producer and I’ve NEVER stopped releasing gospel. This isn’t everything I’ve worked on in the inspirational gospel department as B.SLADE but there’s plenty here that I know most of you have never even heard of before so please stop harassing me, do your homework, and enjoy yourself👀🤷🏾‍♂️😂🥵

Sometimes the most creative thing you can do is stop trying so hard to be creative.

I’ve learned there’s no single way to make art. No rulebook. No finish line. Art isn’t about chasing the last win or trying to top yourself every time. It’s a feeling. A knowing. Curiosity. Courage. Letting life live you a little.

I used to get stuck trying to be who I thought I was supposed to be, instead of who I needed to be right now. That mindset will slow your spirit down fast. Growth doesn’t come from staying parked in past victories. It comes from moving, experimenting, living.

Faith to faith. Project to project. Becoming more honest each time. Not more perfect.
