Make sure to visit Building G on Open Studios Day for the opening of 𝘿𝙞𝙧𝙚𝙘𝙩 𝙛𝙧𝙤𝙢 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝘾𝙡𝙖𝙨𝙨𝙧𝙤𝙤𝙢: 𝙁𝙖𝙡𝙡 𝙎𝙚𝙡𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙨 featuring works by young artists in our Artists-in-Classrooms (AIC) program!

Watercolor, poetry, sculpture and dance works represent 1,708 students taught by Artist Teachers in 61 classrooms throughout San Pedro and LA County during the fall academic term.

This one-woman show starring singer, Windy Barnes, follows the story of the fictitious character, Shady Henson, as she works the “Chitlin Circuit” from 1955 through 1980 in search of stardom. CALL FOR ARTISTS 📣 : Our Civic Art Division invites artists and artist teams residing or working within the greater Los Angeles area to submit qualifications to create an artwork for the façade of a new parking structure in Marina del Rey. The new parking structure will be located on the corner of Mindanao Way and Admiralty Way at the entrance to Burton Chace Park, contributing a significant visual impact to the area.

In alignment with the County’s MdR for All initiative that seeks to ensure the harbor becomes a more inclusive, equitable, and sustainable place for all residents, businesses, and visitors, we are pleased to announce this opportunity is open to artists of ALL experience levels, with no prior experience in public art required to apply.

The Civic Art Division is committed to supporting the inclusion of diverse and underrepresented artists in the County’s Civic Art Collection, including emerging public artists who might require additional support and professional development resources. For this project, a public art mentor will be available to provide free training and project management guidance to the commissioned artist as needed to ensure the success of the project.
