While the Advent/Christmas season is known as a time of joy, merriment, and excited expectation it can also include feelings of fear, grief, loneliness, or maybe just the need to step away from relentless cheer. Our lives are complex. Advent and Christmas can be too. The Blue Advent service, led by Rev. Keri Olsen Paget and the Spiritual Formation Counsel, is designed to hold the complexity of the season with gentle grace while in community. Come pray, sing, and worship God-With-Us remembering that through Christ grief and fear dance with gratitude and hope. In-person only.

It's December! Blessed Advent! I officially invite you to a spectacular, festive Christmas concert this Sunday afternoon at FUMC Santa Monica with a huge choir, orchestra and children's choir. Perhaps the best part: It's free!!! A free-will offering will be taken to support the music program. But there is no pressure on those for which that would be a hardship. So, please, treat yourself to some beautiful music! You deserve it!

Last week I had the pleasure of joining New Directions Veterans Choir on a stop in Hoover, Alabama. We had the greatest time! We had full, wonderful houses and got to meet the nicest people at the receptions following our shows. The hospitality of the staff at the venue was off the charts. And we all made a new friend in Kerri Richardson who joined us there to sing with us. God is good!

Yesterday I had the pleasure of performing with Just Us 4 at The Covington in Aliso Viejo! They have such nice entertainment facilities for their residents. What a great time!
