Roping as a hand crafted architectural composition 🪢

This design does more than enclose space for safety, the rope wall is a sculpted backrest shaped to lean into from the loft side while also giving tactile leverage points to help clamber in. The voluminous shape, presence, and function actives this vertical space visually and physically. It is a modern geometric study in tension and negative space that happens to enclose a loft.

With well planned coordination this installation went smoothly and efficiently. Each material selection and connection was designed with the utmost safety in mind. Every line of the pattern and anchor point was resolved before the first strand was set.

The rope wall uses custom, hand-crafted wood elements as the anchoring shoe and structure for the backrest. Woodwork by

I kicked off the new year with something tremendous - I presented my art to a sold out theater to over 300 people! Speaking about my immersive tasting experiences was an incredible experience, to do a deep dive learning the arc of storytelling to the structure of a pecho lucha was exhilarating. I am so very excited to share with all of you the phase 2 renderings for the Oakstone bar & restaurant! When determining the ethos driving this design we doubled down on glam while embracing nature. We dreamt of a lush, rich palate rooted in a comfort & warmth totally unique to this location. We did this by celebrating the use of locally sourced wood throughout the design, letting the live edge & natural colors of cedar and oak be THE design statement, complimented by richly saturated colors and dramatically scenic wallpaper. This is all to remind you exactly where you are and why - you are on the cusp of a world renowned forest and mountain scape ⛰️ to enjoy with your closest friends, and to celebrated with the luxury of a craft cocktail 🥂and cold beer 🍻. You are at Oakstone Yosemite. 🤩
