Our building itself, located on the corner of 7th and Santa Fe, drips with history, being one of the oldest buildings in the area. Remnants of its history as an industrial revolution era factory stand out and give the building and the studio space itself that unique touch of character. Electric Sheep Studios was founded by indie filmmakers who had fallen victim time and time again to one of the major shortcomings of the indie filmmaking industry: locations. Finding a studio with a suitable amount of space at an affordable price had always been an difficult hurdle to get over, so we decided to take matters into our own hands and buy a space for ourselves. Now we want to share the opportunity we have had by allowing other filmmakers to utilize the space at an affordable price. Filmmakers possess a uniquely powerful breed of passion, and we know the pain of having that passion crushed by unaffordable shooting locations. For the last month we've been proud to be hosting playwright Neil Koenigsberg and theater director Amy Madigan and their theater group rehearsing for the West Coast Premiere of Off the King's Road. It was a great month of rehearsal and we can't wait to see the show! It will be premiering at The Odyssey theater running from June 27th to August 2nd. Don't miss out!
