Was Maurice Ravel’s muse a cat?!  🐈‍⬛ ✨

Watch as the incredible Conrad Tao dives into some speculative musicology (or should we say meow-sicology? 🐾) that makes a solid case why the French master was definitely a cat person — featuring some key moments from Ravel’s Piano Concerto in G major. 🎹
Hear Conrad Tao bring this masterpiece (and its subtle feline energy) to life with Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra this weekend! 🎶

Still floating after Tuesday night’s performance!

The legendary Angela Hewitt kicked off LACO’s brand-new recital series with a stunning, all-Mozart program at Zipper Hall! She didn’t just play Mozart—she completely embodied him, moving through the sonatas and fantasies with effortless elegance and grace. A highlight of the evening was when she was joined by LACO’s brilliant concertmaster Margaret Batjer for a luminous performance of the Sonata for Violin and Piano in G major, K. 301.

Yoko Ono’s (Yoko Ono) landmark performance works from the 1960s sold out when they were staged in LA this summer, and now you finally get to watch both in full on YouTube.

In Sky Piece to Jesus Christ (1965), six Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra (Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra) musicians play as they’re slowly wrapped in gauze until they can no longer perform.

In Cut Piece (1964), artist MPA () sits silently onstage while audience members cut away pieces of her clothing, holding her stillness through every cut.

These performances took place at REDCAT (REDCAT (Roy and Edna Disney CalArts Theater)) and were presented by The Broad (The Broad) in conjunction with Yoko Ono: Music of the Mind, closing soon on October 11. Watch the full performances at the link in bio.
