Thank you for your friendship - the respect, advice, and support you gave to me feels invaluable. Sharing your experience and encouragement around being an androgynous person felt empowering and like I was really understood in a very direct way for the first time in my life. I will always cherish you telling me stories in your kitchen while you made us spaghetti. Spaghetti is the perfect meal, I agree. Thank you for being a friend. Thank you for believing in me. I’ll never forget being the first ones up on the double-decker tour bus on the way to Glastonbury Festival. We sat quietly doing our hair routines while listening to Patti Smith read Just Kids. It made everything feel calm and sweet.

I’ll never forget staying behind with you at the Singapore Changi Airport while they called the police to inspect your harmless necklace with the bullet shell on it. We ended up having the best 24 hours ever.

I’ll never forget sharing a bed with you, falling asleep while you watched Law & Order, then waking up to find you had placed two pillows between us out of respect.

I’ll never forget you making jokes at the best times and the worst times.

I’ll never forget watching you play guitar for shivers. It was electric. It was exciting. It was loud.

I’ll never forget us both trying to get the same girl after the show, only to realize she wasn’t interested in either of us.

I’ll never forget you doing absolutely anything for a laugh. Truly some of my favorite comedy.

I’ll never forget a lot of things — especially that for a very special moment in time, we got to be on the road together: family, bandmates, friends.

Gregg, my brother.

The loss of you has devastated so many. There’s been an outpouring of love for you since the news broke of your passing. You really were such a special guy… I don’t have enough words to describe how special. It’s wrapped up in the sound you made - your guitar playing, the soul you put into any piano. I can’t imagine a world without you creating some of the best music we’ve ever heard.

Brother Greeg, You helped change my life. You, Bethany, and Chan came into my world and altered its course forever. We were thick as thieves from the start, and you felt like family from day one.

Your talent, skill, and passion for music were immense and deeply inspiring. Thank you for guiding us through it all. I can still hear your voice in my in-ears. You were the most hilarious person I’ve ever met, and you never stopped making us laugh. Bless you for your jokes.

We shared so many memories — wild, beautiful, difficult, hilarious, human memories — and every one of them fills me now with gratitude, love, and longing. I always thought I’d get to see you play again. It was one of the highest honors of my life to share a stage with you.

I’ll carry your spirit, your music, and your brotherhood with me always. I love you, Greeg.
