Michael Roud's fascination with visual imagery, art, and photography (particularly headshot, fashion, and advertising photography) began during childhood. Michael still takes this sense of enthusiasm, passion, and determination into all of his work. Michael Roud’s self starter mentality and passion for photography, cinematography and directing influenced him to found Aloha Media Productions, in 2005. Aloha Media Productions got off to a swift start with Michael Roud’s documentary, commercial, and narrative filmmaking taking him to such locations as Indonesia, Japan, Vietnam and the various Hawaiian Islands. Michael Roud's cinematography and photography is distributed world-wide. Since moving to Los Angeles in February of 2007, Michael Roud has contributed his skills as cinematographer on three feature films, numerous music music videos and shorts, and a television pilot. He is also one of the creators and creative directors of the reality television show, Rise Up. Michael Roud wrote and directed the dark comedy, entitled Black Cadillac, which premiered in July 2011 at the LA Shorts Fest, and is currently in the festival circuit. In September, Michael directed two music videos, one of which became YouTube's #1 Most Viewed Video of the Day, and both went on to have over a million hits within two days of their release, making the artist, Viennie V, an instant international sensation. Michael Roud feels fortunate to have had the opportunity to both photograph actor headshots, editorial campaigns, and film such talents as Jessie McCartney, Brandon Routh (Superman Returns), David Carradine (Kill Bill II, Kung Fu), Michael Madsen (Reservoir Dogs), and Grammy Award Winner George Kahumoku, to name a few. Michael Roud enjoys working with talent in a fun and creative atmosphere, from high profile celebrities to up and coming talent. He feels truly thankful for where he is today.
