This painting titled “Truth” from 1993 was painted by the legendary SKATE One of for the “Word from the Underground: Art is a Crime” exhibition in LA. It says, “What kind of man are you with a gun in your hand?” It depicts a person getting their head bashed by a police baton. I was lucky enough to meet SK8 when I was organizing this exhibition for the 1-year anniversary of the LA Rebellion. He was hanging out at Studios a lot during this period. This was all Krylon painted on recycled billboard vinyl. @ Los Angeles, California

Another piece from 1993 by “Big 5” that was created for the Word from the Underground: Art is a Crime exhibition. This exhibition opened in Los Angeles on April 29th 1993. This was the one year anniversary of the LA Uprising/Riots. Still relevant today. Many of these pieces were painted on the backside on recycled billboard vinyl - all Krylon. , , , , , , , ,

Piece by and RELM (Devin Flynn) from the 1993 exhibition Word From The Underground: Art is a Crime exhibition. I curated and produced this exhibition that we were fortunate to stage at the infamous Studios in LA. I believe this piece is called “Rat Trap” snd is referencing artist Jacques-Louis David’s painting “Oath of the Horatii” from 1784 (France). I guess the more things change the more they stay the same. I’m sure Sandow has some better photos of this and more info. @ Rampart District - L.A.

Here are some photos of the art installation collaboration of Robbie Conal X Risk featuring the street poster in my previous post.
This piece was exhibited April 29, 1993 on the 1st Year Anniversary of the LA Uprising/Riots.

The LA Uprising of 1992 marks the beginning of my company and career really. The rage from this event manifested in our premier exhibition titled "Word from the Underground: Art is a Crime". This graffiti art exhibition was staged at the Conart Studios in Los Angeles. The exhibition was meant to give graffiti artists in Los Angeles an outlet to express themselves about the Uprising/Riots. The art created ended up heavily focused on the abuse of our citizens by the police. Clearly we still have a great deal of work to do in this area.

Here are some photos of the kids mural workshop version of Lalo’s mural design. We painted a simplified outline of each of the mural designs on vinyl so that kids from the Boys & Girls Club of Tucson could paint in the colors. had a community health fair as part of the mural program we did that was sponsored by Banner - University Medical Center in 2019. Muralists , , and did a great job helping the kids paint. Looking back on brighter days. We will get through this. , , , , , @ Boys & Girls Clubs of Tucson

I was thinking about this mural we produced for Banner Health and the University of Arizona in Tucson last year. This one in particular feels very relevant now. designed and painted this mural along with . I am so thankful for our health care workers likes those at Banner Health and all around the country that are putting themselves on the line for us. Thank you Lalo for this amazing design and thanks to the team who brought us in on this important community mural project. Let’s all take a deep breath and try to relax as we continue to ride this one out. @ Tucson, Arizona

Lots of great photos and stories including some of my favorites about Robbie’s early life and career all the way back to his parents in NY. Posting this in honor of the 50th anniversary of Earth Day. This is a mural called “FUTURE” of Greta Thunberg that we produced on our wall in downtown Los Angeles earlier this year. painted an oil painting of Greta that then painted as a mural, carefully capturing Robbie’s style.
