This case will NEVER sit right with me. Emmanuel Haroâs tragic death could have been prevented if the justice system worked how it promised to.
Emmanuel may have never been born and forced to face such a brutal death and a life filled with darkness and abuse.
How does a violent child abuser walk free, after almost killing his 10-week-old daughter? And then heâs finally jailed after ACTUALLY murdering his 7-month old son.
Years ago, Emmanuelâs father, Jake, almost killed his 10-month-old daughter from another marriage. But first, let me remind you of Emmanuelâs story.
To this day, Emmanuelâs body has yet to be found.
The two cowards who took his life refuse to tell anyone where they left him.
Emmanuelâs story crossed my mind again because his mother, Rebecca Haro, recently plead guilty in playing a part in his death.
She was only given twelve years and eight months in prison.
Twelve years and eight months, for failing to protect her baby.
Twelve years and eight months, for protecting and helping a man that she KNEW was abusing her 7 month old baby.
She told a fake story: that she was knocked unconscious in a parking lot while she changed Emmanuelâs diaper, and he was gone when she woke up.
Investigators tell a completely different story.
According to the evidence, Emanuel died from âprolonged abuse and head trauma.â
He had suffered a brain injury due to the abuse.
Emmanuelâs âfatherâ Jakeâ the man who was supposed to love and nurture himâ plead guilty in his sonâs murder and will serve 32 years in prison.
A slap in the face.
And the part that shakes me about this entire story is that Jake actually has a HISTORY of violently abusing children, this was not the first time that a child suffered life-altering injuries and almost DEATH at Jakeâs hands.
You see, Jake almost killed one of his babies before. Despite this, he was allowed to walk free, remarry, and have MORE children.
Jake was previously married to another woman named Vanessa Avina. They shared a 10-week-old baby girl, Promise Faith.
10 weeks old.
On October 13, 2018, Promise was put into the hospital due to multiple fractured ribs, âhealingâ broken ribs, a skull fracture, a brain hemorrhage, a swollen neck, and a fractured leg bone that was in the healing stages.
She was completely healthy, but because of the abuse that she endured, Promise Faith is now blind, she canât walk, she canât talk, she has minimal brain function, and she will forever be completely dependent on others.
Promise Faith was then given to Vanessaâs cousin, who adopted her and gave her her current name. This cousin also already had custody of Jake and Vanessaâs oldest child, who was born with fetal alcohol syndrome, and she was recently given custody of the 2-year-old child that Rebecca (current wife/Emmanuelâs mom) and Jake had.
Jake blamed Vanessa for the abuse of their 10-week-old baby, and they were both arrested and charged with child cruelty.
The judge sentenced him to 180 days in jail and probation. BUT WAIT!
He never actually served any time in jail! Only probation.
Absolutely sickening and irresponsible on the judgeâs part.
Jake would then go on to have more children, and devastatingly, Emmanuel would have his life taken by this man.
And NOW the justice system makes Jake pay the time for what he did back in 2018. NOW that he actually took a childâs life.
NOW that itâs too late.
They never care until itâs too late.
Had Justice been properly served back in 2018, Emmanuel would be here.
Had Rebecca chosen a good man, Emmanuel would never have endured this.
He was failed in so many ways.
Rest in peace baby Emmanuel.đïžđđŒ
