“East West Players: A Home on Stage” aired on KCET and PBS SoCal last week. It was the latest installment of Artbound, an Emmy award-winning series that examines the lives, works and creative processes of arts and culture innovators making an impact in Southern California and beyond.

“East West Players: A Home on Stage” is an engaging, moving look at the 58-year history of the longest-running theatre of color in the United States, and the role it has played for the Asian-American theatre community and for the Asian-American community at large. It features candid conversations with an incredible lineup of Asian-American artists, including many who have moved into mainstream media.

Because the documentary was filmed while we were preparing for our world premiere last April and May, it also includes memories, interviews, and behind-the-scenes footage of our time at at East West Players , from first rehearsal to opening night. We’re very grateful to be able to relive these wonderful memories. But more than that, we’re honored that our show is now part of East West Players’ story, and that the artists who worked on it now join the ranks of Asian-American legends who have walked through East West Players’ doors.

You can watch “East West Players: A Home on Stage” through PBS SoCal website (https://www.pbs.org/video/east-west-players-a-home-on-stage-xnwanj/), or on KCET's YouTube channel (https://youtu.be/F84x_YKGaPk?si=bM24mLvorEkBjqKH).

Huge congratulations and thanks to the team behind this beautiful piece of documentary filmmaking.
