EDOARDO TRESOLDI

This artist creates monumental works entirely in transparency.
Through folding, he shapes the form and reinforces the structure of his work without the need for any external support.
The result is ethereal and magical.

SHULMAN HOUSE
Raphael Soriano

The Shulman House is a mid-century steel home and studio in the Hollywood Hills. In 1947 architectural photographer Julius Shulman asked architect Raphael Soriano to build him a house and studio in the Hollywood Hills.
When new owners acquired the Shulman Home in 2010, they hired LOHA to restore and update the home to meet the needs of a young family.
Shulman – one of the most influential architectural photographers of the 20th century – is well known for his iconic images of Modernist homes in California. He photographed buildings by many illustrious architects, including Pierre Koenig, Charles Eames and Richard Neutra.

ADRIANA VAREJO GALLERY
Rodrigo Cervino Lopez

2008.
Inhotim welcomes different installations, whether architectural or a little less so.
Here the gallery plays on contrast between the desire to integrate it into the landscape and its extremely artificial aspect, redefining an angular and rectilinear nature.

MEAGAN STREADER

Meagan Streader’s work pushes the limits of light within sculpture and installation. Streader manipulates, reinterprets and extends upon the boundaries of constructed spaces. Through site-specific interventions, her multidimensional use of light re-orientates the viewer’s relationship to the pre-existing architecture and scale of a given space.
In this way, Streader’s work reveals the pervasive role of light in governing physical and social navigations of fabricated spaces.

1952.
«Creating beautiful things, that's all», was the final project declared by Philip Johnson (1906 - 2005).

OFFICES FOR JUNTA DE CASTILLA Y LEON
Alberto Campo Baeza

Campo Baeza uses here a composition of volumes that he knows well: a closed space of minimalist walls and a glass pavilion.
Two particularities of the project, however:
the fact of the use of stone for the floors and the enclosure visually unites them; and the second skin of simple glass is quite simply the most beautiful work of its kind... Imagined in 10 seconds, it takes talent not to make concessions until delivery and it takes another to successfully enhance this colossal budget with its client... The result cannot leave a lover of details indifferent…

JOHN MAC CRACKEN

In 2020, enigmatic blocks of metal began to appear out of nowhere in various countries, in the middle of the Utah desert, in a nature reserve in the Netherlands or on a beach on the Isle of Wight... They caused a sensation on social networks and brought to mind the work of John McCracken, a figure close to minimal art who was the first to elevate the monolith to the rank of a work of art.

TREMAINE HOUSE
Richard Neutra

1948.

The Tremaine house is unique in Neutra’s oeuvre with the union between architectural expression and structural necessity. Articulated concrete pillars bear the long frontal girders, which in turn support eight foot cantilevered roof beams below an impossibly thin-looking roof slab all rendered in reinforced concrete. The use of concrete was partly in response to the threat of forest fires and one of the first homes to introduce interior space with raw, unfinished concrete – later to become known in more general practice as Brutalism. The home is still there today and is a masterstroke of architecture.

POUL KJAERHOLM

Kjærholm considered himself to be a furniture architect, language that reflected his strong belief that furniture plays a critical role in spatial experience and design.

“I would rather express the character of the materials than my own character.”
