Worldbuildr

Worldbuildr Experience design for the digital age.

Three questions we hear pretty regularly from people who just found Worldbuildr:
1. Who is this actually for?
2. When in the project should we bring you in?
3. What does working with you look like?

The honest answer to all three is: it depends on where you are in your project.
Worldbuildr is a simulation platform for complex physical experiences: theme parks, immersive attractions, museums, festivals, entertainment venues, etc. It brings spatial design, show programming, guest behavior, and operational logic into a single live model, so creators can see how an experience performs before it’s built.

Worldbuildr was started by a creative director who wanted to make decisions with more visibility. To test before committing, to understand what a creative choice actually meant operationally, without needing to call an Unreal guy to find out.

The teams who use it and what for:

🏗️ Owners and developers — protecting capital before it’s deployed. Seeing whether the design will actually deliver the attendance, throughput, and revenue numbers the business case is built on.

🎬 Producers and project directors — managing the coordination problem. Multiple vendors, parallel workstreams, decisions being made in separate documents. Worldbuildr is the shared model that surfaces conflicts before they become change orders.

🎨 Creative directors — protecting the vision through ex*****on. Testing whether the show logic holds, whether what looks right on paper performs right in three dimensions.

⚙️ Operators — testing flow, staffing logic, and guest behavior before opening day, rather than after.

Worldbuildr is the model all four of these client profiles are looking at, solving their own unique issues in parallel tracks.

When to bring it in: anywhere from early concept through pre-opening training. The earlier you do it, the cheaper it is to solve the problems you find. The later, the more urgent the problems you’re solving and the more expensive the fixes. Both are valid entry points — better late than after opening.

How people engage with us:
→ Done-for-you simulation — we build and run the simulation, you receive outputs: videos, walkthroughs, flow reports, show programming previews.
→ Platform subscription — your team works directly in Worldbuildr across the project lifecycle, with full control over iteration.

If you've ever signed off on something and thought to yourself, “I hope this works the way we imagine” — that's the exact moment Worldbuildr exists for.

Tell us what that moment looks like on your current project in the comments below 👇

The experience design industry has a running joke:
The most accurate version of your attraction is the one that emerges during installation.

Nobody's surprised when it happens. Which is, if you think about it, the most revealing part.

Teams are talented, each discipline knows its work deeply. But no one has a clear picture of how everything performs together until it's physically in the same room. And by then, changes are slow and expensive.

The industry has a name for the phase where you sort it all out: the soft opening. It's not a design failure. It's just become part of the plan.

Worldbuildr moves that conversation earlier: spatial design, show programming, guest behavior, and operational logic running together in one live simulation, before construction begins. So the conflicts surface when they're still cheap to fix.

If you're working on a complex physical experience, tell us the challenge that keeps you up at night. We'll show you how we'd approach it in a sim.

Airports today. Theme parks tomorrow. Same questions underneath.

This article on motional digital twins in airports is a great example of what we see across complex environments: real value shows up when teams can predict how people, resources, and decisions interact over time.

In this case, digital twins are used to move from reactive firefighting to proactive planning— forecasting congestion, testing “what if” scenarios, and connecting flow decisions directly to operational efficiency and revenue. It’s a pattern that translates well to attractions, retail destinations, festivals, and large-scale experiences— anywhere efficiency and guest experience are tightly linked.

Worth a read if you’re thinking about how to ask better questions earlier and make decisions with certainty before changes get expensive.

Across industries, we keep seeing the same pattern: “What if?” is still the most underrated design tool.

How motional digital twins improve flow, efficiency and non-aeronautical performance in airports

🏆 We’ve been shortlisted as finalists for the 8th Aurea Awards. 🏆

We take this as a meaningful nod to where immersive entertainment is heading. Out of nearly 100 nominations focused on innovation and real-world impact, the jury shortlisted Worldbuildr alongside other finalists. It’s encouraging to see experiential validation and predictive modeling firmly part of that conversation.

Big thanks to the AUREA organizers and Jury for the invitation to be part of such an exciting mix of projects, perspectives, and disciplines! These moments matter not so much for trophies, but for the space they create for sharper questions, better tools, and projects tackling some of the industry’s most practical and creative challenges.

In early February, we’ll be heading to Europa-Park to pitch our platform to the Jury, listen and learn from fellow finalists, and connect with the European immersive entertainment community.

🎢 (If we’re a little slow to reply that week, we’re probably looping Europa-Park’s Silver Star **— sending our not-so-sincere apologies in advance.) 🎢
