These are the last few days to catch Ishi Glinsky in the group exhibition Indian Theater at SITE SANTA FE in collaboration with the IAIA Museum of Contemporary Native Arts (MoCNA) and the Institute of American Indian Arts (IAIA). Curated by Candice Hopkins, the exhibition runs through Saturday September 7th. If in Santa Fe, do not miss.

Personal Korean epiphany: in an alternate version of my life as a dealer, I focus exclusively on post-war minimal abstraction such as Simon Hantaï, James Bishop, Marc Devade, early Brice Marden, Yun Hyong-Kuen, and the like. There is much discussion of saturation, reduction, “painterly incident” and rigor. In addition to the odd institutional sale, I am supported by three loyal collectors, none of whom speak English, and whose IQs are matched by their vast wealth; not only do they never ask for discounts, I will probably never meet any of them, nor ever know what they even look like. And yet, we are intimately bound by the arcane specificity of our devotion to this kind of painting. Thanks to having no choice but to accept the relative obscurity of my fate as a radically niche dealer, I am happier. More serene. I meditate more. A lot more. Take long walks. Occasionally levitate. Talk to birds. Plants. The wind.
