Gary Spatz's - The Playground: A Young Actor's Conservatory Welcome to the official Playground page! Gary Spatz's The Playground is the premiere on camera acting program for Children, Teens, and Adults.

"The Playground Los Angeles" is a young actors' conservatory teaching on-camera acting for film & television to youth. The acting lessons are supervised by Gary Spatz who has 20+ years experience. The Playground is an on-camera conservatory where young actors can challenge and stimulate their abilities. Gary Spatz and his staff of professional actors/teachers nurture each student's creativity and help them find a way of working on-camera. They are dedicated to helping each child develop a personal technique for film & television as they train the young performer in the craft of acting.

Congratulations to current Playgrounder Arya Parvathi for her starring role in Benny Safdie’s new feature film “Lizard Music”! ⭐️🦎🎶

Arya just recently graduated from our undergraduate program in May 2026 and is now a masters student in our junior varsity acting classes. She brings so much personality, professionalism, and joy to our acting studios in Los Angeles. We’ve been missing her these past couple of months as she’s been busy filming her first feature film “Lizard Music” alongside her costar Dwayne Johnson. We cannot wait to see her shine on the big screen when this film comes out!

Arya, we are beyond excited for you and for this incredible experience! What a wonderful beginning to an amazing acting career! 🚀🎬

Congratulations to former Playgrounder Trinity Jo-Li Bliss for starring in the new short film “They Haunt Him” that recently debuted at HollyShorts film festival! ✨🎬

It was such a blessing to have gotten to know Trinity while working with her in our acting classes in Los Angeles. As a young actress, Trinity is best known for her role as Tuktirey in James Cameron’s “Avatar: The Way of Water” and “Avatar: Fire and Ash”. Alongside acting she releases music as a singer-songwriter, including her new popular song “will they won’t they”. Being the talented and professional performer that she is, it is no surprise to us that Trinity’s acting and music careers are flourishing.

We’re so excited for you Trinity! We’re cheering you on and can’t wait to see theyhaunthim and what’s in store for you next! 🚀🎬

Congratulations to current Playgrounder Giuliana for her feature in a new commercial for Kohl’s! ⭐️✨

We adore having Giuliana in our acting classes in Los Angeles! Her personality shines in our acting studios and it is so exciting to now see it also shine in multiple professional projects! Over the past couple of months, Giuliana has kickstarted her acting career with this Kohl's commercial, a voiceover part for UCHealth commercials, and a new Reading Rainbow commercial that’s being released soon. As a talented bilingual young actress, Giuliana finds opportunities is dual markets.

🎥 SHORT FILM RELEASE! ⭐️🚌

Our comedy short “SKIP DAY” follows a group of freshman students ditching school for a day spent out in Los Angeles, hoping to not get tattled on by a jealous little sister. This was especially fun for our acting students to film because it was a multi-location shoot! The story takes place in many iconic LA spots, including Santa Monica State Beach, the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and Beverly Hills. We always love the adventures that our acting classes in Los Angeles take us on.

Congratulations to Playgrounder Elizabeth Amelie for her recent feature in Walmart’s Back-to-school “Wonder Nation” campaign! ⭐️📚

Elizabeth has been lovely to work with in our acting classes in Los Angeles and is a star in the making! As a young actress, she already has quite a bit of experience, including projects like a Purina commercial and Dhar Mann Studios short films. Similar to several of our other students, Elizabeth is also branching into the modeling industry, collaborating with brands like Walmart and Kits !

Acting skills, such as comfortability with the camera, facial expression training, and confidence all overlap in the modeling industry. We find that talented performers like Elizabeth can use their acting skills as the foundation to cross over into many other creative fields.

We’re so excited for you Elizabeth! We can’t wait to see the great things on the horizon for you in both your acting and modeling journeys! 🚀✨

A behind-the-scenes look at The Playground’s Industry Events! 🎬✨

Several times a year, our acting school in Los Angeles conducts agent showcases that give our students the opportunity to perform for talent agents and managers.

Whether performing a commercial or a scene, each participating student gets to show their personality, creativity, and acting skills on-camera.

Most importantly, these experiences are about more than just one performance. They’re opportunities to build confidence, get industry exposure, and grow as young actors.

We’re incredibly proud of the preparation, professionalism, and courage our students bring to these events.
