Slamdance Unstoppable Co-Founder, activist, comedian, and actor Steve Way, is the “secret weapon” (Esquire) of Hulu’s #1 new serial killer drama FURIOUS.

FURIOUS marks Way’s latest major acting role, following his acclaimed performance in the Hulu comedy series RAMY.

BIG shout out to this weekends “bust out” indie film BUDDY, co-written by Slamdance alum, workshop mentor, panelist, and reader Jamie King landing the #6 spot in the domestic box-office this weekend and earning $5.36mil, with a budget of $250k.

Buddy The Unicorn is further proof of the current the trend that truly independent horror films can attract a sizable audience!

Jamie King won Best Teleplay at Slamdance 2015 for his coming-of-age horror pilot CASTLE ROCK, preceding his success with MARVEL’S JESSICA JONES (Netflix) for 5 episodes—including the critically acclaimed season one finale “Smile,” which won both a Peabody Award and a Hugo Award.

Congratulations to Jamie for his continuing success and for embodying the spirit of Slamdance throughout his ongoing illustrious career!

Congrats to Slamdance Alumni Matt Johnson on the recent nationwide release of his latest film TONY - a biopic about the late great Anthony Bourdain.

After premiering his film THE DIRTIES at Slamdance in 2013 he found continued success in writing and directing BLACKBERRY and NIRVANA THE BAND THE SHOW THE MOVIE.

We look forward to more work from Matt Johnson who has solidified himself as one of the  most prominent and talented writers/directors in today’s film industry.

Slamdance Alumn, Sean Baker on the importance of editing in independent film, viewing the edit as a critical aspect of his filmmaking process. His hands-on work on Anora led to a historic sweep at the 97th Academy Awards, where he became the first filmmaker to win four Oscars for a single film, including Best Film Editing.
