More about the artist:

Victor Gonzalez is a 21-year-old saxophonist, composer/arranger, and educator based in the Los Angeles and Orange County area. He is currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Jazz Studies at California State University, Fullerton. Victor leads various ensembles, ranging from small groups of 4-10 musicians to full big bands.

As a composer, Victor specializes in conceptual music with impressionistic qualities, blending genres such as Latin, Jazz, ECM, Hip-Hop, and more. His latest record, “Against All Odds,” released on March 1st, 2024, features primarily original compositions performed by his quartet. Victor plans to record his earlier music project entitled “Conditions” in the Summer of 2025. Featuring eight original compositions, the record metaphorically explores different aspects of the Human Condition through nature which feature a jazz sextet, string quartet, and a vocalist, showcasing some of LA’s finest jazz musicians.

In addition to his performance and composition work, Victor is dedicated to education. He actively supports his community in Orange County through teaching at high schools, private conservatories, and other institutions. Known for his passion, collaborative spirit, and versatility, Victor is always eager to make music with musicians of all kinds.

Shaky Eddie is a Los Angeles-based jazz fusion group writing and playing original music that mixes straight-ahead, funk, Latin, blues, rock, hard bop, and more. The band has released two albums — a self-titled record in 2022 and a follow-up, “Dog Green Blues,” in 2024 — and is working on a third.

Looking forward to having saxophonist Garrett Becker and his quartet for our next Jazz Under Ground show at the on August 14th!

More about the artist:

Garrett Becker is a woodwind multi-instrumentalist focusing on saxophone and flute, and has played all over with bands of all types including; Indonesian Artist NIKI, indie rock group Mild High Club, and jazz singer Sara Gazarek. With a strong passion for rock music, he loves all things jazz fusion. Influenced by Chick Corea, the Brecker Brothers band, Kneebody, and tons more, he looks forward to bringing his own blend of musical ideas to Stowaway and Jazz Under Ground.
