Over the past week, we've sadly lost two members of the Gallifrey One extended family.
Deanna Bayless (left) was part of the small group that met back in January 1989, a meeting that led to the creation of Gallifrey One. As a member of our convention team for over twenty years, she and her partner Dave "The Brigadier" Keller ran our security team and convention office, and created many of our daily newsletters on site. Dave was taken from us in 2014 and Deanna attended for several years past that, until her health precluded her from joining us. She was a gentle and loving person, and while many of you more recent visitors may not have met Deanna, we can tell you that she was definitely part of the reason why we're still going strong today.
So was MaryLee Holzheimer (right), who most of you probably *do* know. MaryLee was one of the longest-serving vendors in the Gallifrey One Dealers Room, joining us each year for more than 25 years at the Holzheimers Distribution booth... an unbroken streak that dates back all the way to our early days at the Airtel Plaza Hotel in Van Nuys (our home pre-Marriott). She was very well known on the convention circuit, vending at many shows across the United States, including SDCC, DragonCon and dozens of larger events, as well as many smaller shows (like ours). MaryLee was a huge supporter of Gallifrey One, carrying our flyers with her to many events; some of our current dealers are with us because of her. She died suddenly, unexpectedly, earlier today.
We will miss Deanna and MaryLee, and send our best wishes to everyone who knew and loved them as we did.
