🩵 Today, on her birthday, we remember the heart and soul of the Fountain Theatre, Co-Founder and Co-Artistic Director Deborah Culver Lawlor. 💙

We are so grateful to the legacy she has left for us to steward. Were she here, we like to believe that she would be so delighted to share her birthday weekend with the launch of World Dance at the Fountain!

Please help us welcome Allison back to the Fountain Voices Summer Ensemble 2026! 🌟

A former participant in our summer programming, Allison is returning for another exciting season of creativity, connection, and growth. When she’s not baking, solving crossword puzzles, or taking long walks, she loves writing stories and bringing the ideas in her imagination to life. 📚✍️

When asked what she hopes to explore through Fountain Voices, Allison shared that she wants to grow more confident using her voice, speak in front of larger audiences, and continue building meaningful connections through theater. After such a positive experience during her first year, she’s excited for another summer where she can learn, create, and be part of a community where she feels heard and seen. 💫

We’re so excited to have Allison back at the Fountain and can’t wait to see her imagination, creativity, and voice shine this summer! 💙

🎉 Meet Cruz Castillo will will be performing in our reading of Maddox K. Pennington's Embers Borne West all weekend long!

Cruz Castillo is a Native (Isleta Pueblo) and Latino (Mexican) actor born and raised in LA. A graduate of the Institute of American Indian Arts, Cruz has been acting since the age of six and proudly considers himself a product of community theater. Special shoutout to Whittier Community Theatre for helping raise him.

Some of his favorite productions include Almost, Maine, California Suite, and he'll be appearing in a Sam Shepard play later this year. When he's not on stage, he's usually writing stories, watching horror movies, or trying to convince people that speculative fiction is a public service.

Cruz is currently working on Round-Up, a sci-fi horror film set to premiere later this year.

Through Fountain Voices, Mawuena is excited to continue developing her storytelling skills and discover new ways to communicate powerful ideas through art and creativity.

For Cristy, theater is all about stepping into a character's shoes and bringing stories to life.

As a member of her school's theater academy, she loves acting, performing, and exploring creative writing through monologues that give her even more to work with on stage.

With experience in rehearsals and performances, Cristy is excited to continue growing as an artist through Fountain Voices. This summer, she hopes to become even more creative and intentional in her acting choices while discovering new ways to express herself through performance.

🎉 Meet Kholan Studi who will portray Duke in this week's reading of Embers Borne West by Maddox K. Pennington!

Kholan Studi (Cherokee nation) credits include Anthony in Where The Summit Meets The Stars by Frank Kaash Katasse, Haemon in Antikoni by Beth Piatote and Aaron in Haunted by Tara Moses (Native Voices). Between Two Knees by The 1491’s as Pale Face/William (Yale Repertory Theatre), Isaiah/Eddie (Seattle Rep) and Ensemble (Perelman Performing Arts Center), where he and the ensemble received an Obie Award in 2025. Actor Four in The Other Children of the Sun by Rhianna Yazzie (TYA at The Kennedy Center). You can also catch him as Milo in season two of Tulsa King (but seriously no pressure, streaming residuals are terrible anyways.)

🎉 Meet CC Slater who will be performing the role of Cecile in this week's reading of Embers Borne West by Maddox K. Pennington!

Caroline “CC” Slater is a true Pacific Northwest girl, born and raised in Spokane, WA. She began acting professionally at age 9, appearing in regional theatre, independent film, and television. She's a graduate of Georgetown’s Theatre and Performance Studies program, where she performed, composed, directed, and devised in collaboration with nomadictheatre, Mask & Bauble, and the Lab for Global Politics and Performance. After graduation, she moved to LA, because, well, the West Coast IS the best coast. Recent acting credits include Rotation Theatre Company's "Pride & Prejudice" by Kate Hamill and the short film, "Cell Block 69" directed by Tina Luo. You can keep up with her shenanigans .slater on Instagram.
