Shooting here alone at night while two vicious (but, still, very cute) German Shepherd guard dogs bark at you—no, not sketchy at all 🙃😅 (They finally calmed down, but only after about 30 minutes of steadily suspecting woofing).
I’ve wanted to capture this perspective of LA for a longtime. I love all the shapes and intersecting lines and how the light trails from the passing cars bring motion to the image, directing your eye to and from the buildings in the background. I wasn’t about to bug anyone who has shot here for the location, so I made it a mission to see if I could find it myself, which actually wasn’t super difficult anyway. Looking for and successfully finding the spot myself greatly heightened the quality of the overall experience.
It took about an hour to get these trails in particular, waiting for buses which produce taller, more colorful light trails. This is actually a combination of two photos, with one taken right after the other. I loved the trails from both exposures, so I felt I had to combine them. I cannot wait to return soon for a juicy sunset shot.
