What an inspiring weekend at the Telluride Film Festival!

The AFI FilmLab brought eight recent AFI graduates to Telluride for an immersive educational experience.

During their time at the festival, the group had the opportunity to meet amazing talents, including Sofia Coppola, Steve Buscemi, Kenneth Branagh, Javier Ambrossi, Rebecca Hall, AFI Alum Caleb Deschanel and Telluride Film Festival Executive Director Julie Huntsinger. Learning opportunities like this are part of what makes the AFI Conservatory experience so unique.

Creators belong at the center of filmmaking’s future.

Kathleen Kennedy, Chair of the AFI Board of Trustees, Susan Ruskin, AFI Dean and Executive Vice President, and Mira Lane, Vice President, Technology & Society at Google, led the AFI AI Summit: Creators at the Center, bringing together 120 leaders from entertainment, technology, labor, government, studios, streamers and higher education.

Through facilitated working sessions, participants sought to establish a shared vocabulary and help ensure emerging technology remains in service of intentional, artist-controlled creative decisions.
