SketchPoetic

SketchPoetic What started as a personal commitment to sketch daily, soon became a catalyst for my own transformation.

It also lead to my greater purpose of elevating art as a tool for self-reflection, self-care, and healing.

Painted this last night to release the 🔥 within. Not the type of 🔥that can burn a village. It's the kind when harnessed can light up the world.

A profile of a face emerged. Do you see it? Wait until the end of the reel for the reveal.

I started sketching on top of it this morning and will continue as the days and weeks progress. Sometimes we need a foundation to rest on, to let go to, and to imagine the possibilities of what comes next. ✨

On one glorious day during my daily sketch at a coffee shop, a stranger bumped my table and spilled coffee all over my sketch. This is how these sketches were born and what emerged from it.

Today I lit my new favorite candle from - a sensual feast of sight and scent. I then brewed a pot of red date ginger tea and let the aroma wash over me. I poured some of the tea onto watercolor paper serving as inspiration for today's daily sketch.

Both products and this original piece are being donated to our pre-Mother's Day raffle, drawn live at our Super Stories: Light the Way event next Saturday in Santa Monica (2–5pm, FREE) with our hosts .official

More gifts being announced soon.

And thank you again Zakhor and Red Root Shop for your donation! ❤️

New sketchbook. New energy.

What is the first thing you notice?
And how does it make you feel?

Last night I spent two hours on this watercolor meditation. Letting the bold colors and purposeful marks soothe me. 🎨

E|ART|H HEALS. Yet, there is another truth that lies within these words. Not hidden by accident, but revealed by design. A quiet knowing that Earth and Art are not separate, and neither are we.

ART HEALS.

As an artist, this is not just a play on words. It is a recognition. A remembering that the act of creating is not something we do apart from her, but something we do as her. We are not standing outside of nature making meaning from it. We are nature, expressing itself.

On Earth Day, this welcome mat is an invitation to recognize that the ground we walk on and the ground within us are one and the same. That healing is not something she gives us, but something we remember through her.

She is the art. She is the artist. She is the masterpiece. And in reflection, so are we.

APRIL 19 | Nine years. 3,285 days of daily sketching.

What began as a simple act became a lifeline. A place to meet myself honestly, beyond words. Some days soft and open, others tight and uncertain. All of it welcome. All of it belonging.

Over 10,000 minutes of feeling, expressing, releasing, and remembering that nothing within us needs to be fixed. Only seen. Only felt.

SketchPoetic is no longer something I do. It is a way I return. Again and again.

If you feel something stirring inside you that you cannot name, begin there.

One mark at a time.
