A few thoughts and thanks from the Open Space crew.
Open Space Opened on January 2nd 2015. We had an idea that we could create a place where artists could come and express their creativity without judgment and with the greatest support we could give them. Over the past 4 years, that is exactly what we did. We created a culture of "Artist First" in our theater, allowing the talent to not worry about anything when they walked through the doors on show night. We spent long hours making sure every show had exactly what it needed and then some. That culture is one I am proud of, and i take that with me for the rest of my life. I would like to thank every act that came through Open Space for helping us build that ideal.
I can't say enough about the artists, musicians, producers and others that have passed through our doors. I was inspired many times a day by the amount of talent, exuberance, tenacity and creativity we encountered. Open Space became less and less about business and more about the community that popped up in our little place. The support of this community was the heart and soul of Open Space and was the motivation to keep growing. More than a few times we were told by artists that Open Space had become their creative home: One of the best compliments someone like me could ever hear.
So as we end an era, we move ever onward and upward. And to the hundreds of performers that graced our stage over the last four years, Thank you.
