Just saw Oppenheimer.
It is an excellent film. With Excellent acting. About a flawed genius who ended WWII in a long instant by incinerating innocent civilians with the A bomb he created, to compel the surrender of the Japanese Imperial Army.

The speech that Spencer Tracy gave about the conviction of jurists (Judges) who were N**i sympathizers from the bench, who went along despite their participation in the murder of innocents, because it was easier, sending people for sterilization and ex*****on for their race, their religion and anything non-conforming to the N**i party line. This is 100% apt today.

I watched a bit of "Doctor Zhivago". The 1965 (66) David Lean masterpiece. It is 4 hrs. long, and a work of art. It is about the Russian Revolution during WWI when the Russian Army, en masse, deserted. It stars Omar Zharif and a dozen other British actors.
Broad and beautifully filmed with vistas. Mountains. Snow. War. Hatred of the ruling class. And a violent revolution around the love affair over years of Dr. Zhivago and a nurse played by Julie Christy.
I want to lure people into theatres and out of living rooms when watching while texting and channel surfing. I want people to immersed in the story, the time.
I love. I love telling the story the way it was THEN - not the way we wish it was.
I am not certain - if a film about servants killing each other and hiding in a basement - original story or not - is the trend.
We must know history to stop the endless rotation of hate, death, us versus them.
