We’re HAiRy noon and nighty night night!

HAiR the Musical changes lives. Either you have seen the live play or performed in the play, the truthfulness and integrity of HAiR touches the hearts of everyone. In 1969, I was invited with my girlfriend Kim Tysons mom to see HAiR at the Biltmore Theater in NYC.

In the late 1980’s I was fortunate to have been the part of a management team with Reutie Butler. Reutie is Michael Butlers niece. At a crazy party at our partner, Stan Shaffers apartment on west 78th street in the Apthorp Apartments, I met Michael Butler for the first time.

Fast forward to 1988, I was cast as the lead “Berger” in the 20th Anniversary Tour of HAiR the Musical. Gerome Ragni told the producer of the tour, Sherwin is the best Berger to ever hit the boards. I am truly grateful to have actually lived the role. Berger is just one crazy, fun, carfree, loving spirit that leads the tribes. In 2000 I met Michael Butler again. My business was a clothing designer and manufacturing house downtown Los Angeles. Michael was introduced to me by Melody Wilson, our designer. Michael was scouting for a wardrobe designer for a HAiR production. In 2004, I was visiting Michaels apartment. I looked at the HAiR Poster on his wall and fell in love.

The offset print we offer you is a digitized reproduction that was made under the direction of Michael Butler. The Certificate of Authenticity is signed by Michael and accompanies every purchase. This is the only authentic prints of the famous 1960’s art. when this is framed, its like no other feeling from any of my art. This work embodies everything that the 60’s through our way.
