🔥 ARTIST REVEAL: CARLOS MENCHACA 🔥

Chicano dancer and choreographer Carlos Menchaca bridges flamenco tradition and the avant-garde, honoring the form’s history while boldly challenging convention and gender norms.

Carlos has toured internationally with Soledad Barrio & Noche Flamenca, Yjastros: The American Flamenco Repertory Company, and Flamenco Arts International, performing across Europe, Latin America, the Middle East, Canada, and the United States.

In 2023, he performed as a principal dancer in Yjastros’ Xicano Power at Spain’s prestigious Festival de Jerez, helping mark the first appearance by a U.S.-based company at the festival. Most recently, he performed at Madrid’s celebrated Tablao Las Carboneras.

🔥 ARTIST REVEAL: TAMAR ILANA “LA TAMA” 🔥

Called a “powerhouse vocalist” by DownBeat Magazine, Tamar Ilana “La Tama” has been immersed in flamenco since the age of seven.

She lived in Barcelona and Seville, studying cante and baile at the prestigious Fundación Cristina Heeren with masters including Rocío Márquez, Calixto Sánchez, and Arcángel, and has since performed with acclaimed flamenco artists around the world.

And her musical world stretches even further: Tamar sings in more than twenty languages and has released four albums with her award-nominated Sephardic-flamenco ensemble Ventanas.

🔥 ARTIST REVEAL: LAKSHMI BASILE “LA CHIMI” 🔥

A force of flamenco with a career spanning more than two decades in Spain, Lakshmi Basile “La Chimi” made history as the only non-native artist to win two of Spain’s most prestigious national flamenco competitions: the Concurso de las Minas de La Unión and the Concurso Nacional de Arte Flamenco de Córdoba.

After establishing her professional career in Seville’s legendary tablaos and peñas flamencas, Lakshmi has become an internationally acclaimed performer, master teacher, and passionate ambassador for the art form.

Now, she brings that artistry, fire, and deep connection to flamenco back to the Fountain for FOREVER FLAMENCO: AIRE.

🔥 **ARTIST REVEAL: KAMBIZ PAKAN** 🔥

A musical journey spanning cultures, continents, and traditions comes to the Fountain stage.

Guitarist Kambiz Pakan first became fascinated with stringed instruments as a child, listening to a relative play the setar, a traditional Persian instrument. That early influence would eventually lead him toward the guitar and a lifelong pursuit of his own distinctive sound.

His journey has taken him from Istanbul to California and deep into the world of Flamenco, including years living in Granada and Jerez. Along the way, Kambiz earned his degree in ethnomusicology and flamencology from CSULB and has performed across the United States, Spain, France, Portugal, Israel, India, Iran, and beyond.

Now back in Southern California, Kambiz joins Artistic Director Lakshmi Basile “La Chimi” for FOREVER FLAMENCO: AIRE, bringing his remarkable musical perspective to the Fountain stage.

🔥 **ARTIST REVEAL: MARIÁN FERNÁNDEZ** 🔥

There’s a new voice in the *Aire*.

Born and raised in Granada, Spain, award-winning singer **Marián Fernández** makes her Fountain Theatre debut this September as part of **FOREVER FLAMENCO: AIRE**.

Marián began studying Flamenco at just 14 and quickly distinguished herself in competition before launching an international career that has taken her across Europe, Pakistan, Brazil, and Dubai. She has shared the stage with renowned artists including David Dorantes and Marina Heredia and currently performs at acclaimed tablaos throughout Spain.

Now, Los Angeles gets to experience her artistry for the first time at the Fountain.
