About the Film:
In “Zoe’s Possession,” a pediatrician and her cousin inherit their grandmother’s family home, only to discover restless spirits and unsettling phenomena that force them to confront their family’s legacy and make a life-altering decision.

The last few weeks have been RUFF! I’ve been a bit sad and quite heavy. When that happens, I get quiet, meditate, process and allow myself to release.

This past weekend was really good for that, opening an avenue for an organic rejuvenation 😌 and making room to receive...

I was sewn into this dress, much like the stereotypical role of Pastor’s Wife or First Lady. I gave permission to a gradual, solitary confinement that limited every boundary I’d previously set.

We were determined to conquer the weekend. Plans were made months prior to witness the matrimony of our friends in Seattle and make our daughters’ birthday special in South Carolina (but from a distance).

The sudden death of my father coupled with financial challenges and stresses of home, caused me to lose weight. The African attire I owned swallowed me. So, to make up for it, my husband bought me this dress for the wedding.

I looked good, y’all!! ❤️ And I received so many compliments. But I was uncomfortable, drained, and alone.

What know one knew because I was too embarrassed to say:

1. A fight occurred en route to the wedding. Fighting before and after special events was the norm. I missed out on a lot of events for being distressed, but I was determined to attend this one.
2. Money was 💨 gone! A flight home would put us at risk of eviction. (The final notice had already been given.)
3. Because I couldn’t afford a room, I got dressed in a McDonald’s stall and drove back the same night.
4. I returned home to the cold silent treatment. In the few words he did choose to speak to me, my husband made himself crystal clear. “WE ARE NOT EQUALS.”
5. To prove his point, he flew to SC the next day and withheld the money I sent to our daughter for her birthday. He told her he needed it to “buy his flight back home.”

The only way out was to burst the seams. Some people don’t like it because, “the dress is so beautiful,” they say. And, “You look so good in it, though.”

For me, it’s an image to behold and a growth to stunt.

I’d rather be naked!

Drop a 👊🏽 if you’re busting through the seams of confinement and limitations.

Just because it fits doesn’t mean you should wear it. Just because they don’t, doesn’t mean you shouldn’t. And if you don’t want to, you certainly don’t have to, friend.

It’s your life. Live it!! ☀️
