Excited to share ’s new song release, COLOR OF THE HEART featuring a dynamic lineup of artists: , Baby G and myself. In a world often divided, this track delivers a powerful message of unity, reminding us that it’s the color of the heart that connects us all.
Blending elements of Hip Hop, spoken word, jazz, R&B, country, and Middle Eastern music, this record has been months in the making and a labor of love.
From Asaf....Here are fun facts about the project:
The song is inspired by a poem written by my mother, Yakira Shimoni Fulks, in 2020. She also created the album art.
I composed, arranged, and engineered the entire track at The OC Recording Company, weaving together four distinct beats in the same key and tempo.
Initially running over 10 minutes with fifteen artists, the final version has been condensed to 3 minutes, featuring nine musicians.
This marks the first time in 20 years since I’ve released a song with Baby G, my college roommate from Denison University, who introduced me to making music.
I’ve collaborated with C-Nice and Calaura (twin siblings) since 2007, Afi El since 2009, and Whosoever South since 2010.
COLOR OF THE HEART is the first official track I’ve released without a chorus—letting the message flow seamlessly and uninterrupted.
