As we enter this New Age when people, especially the youth – all around the world – are rising up, stories of the courageous people who rose up before us should empower us – but not if we can’t hear them.

As part of that generation raised in the red-scare of the McCarthy Era, Carolfrances had to encounter these stories on her own. Come and share a few of them so that together we can begin to restore them to the people. Together let us gather stories from all communities of working people, especially those of color, and share them widely.

And let us resist the forces trying to pull us down into a new McCarthy Era.

Carolfrances is an activist, a poet, a screenwriter, a writer of stories and reflections on life, as well as a retired teacher of three decades, mostly in Compton and Watts.

In 2023, the Ethos Film Awards named her “Writer of the Year.”
