Lake Khövsgöl, Mongolia During a recent expedition across one of Asia’s most remote frozen landscapes, participants from completed an extraordinary endurance challenge on the icy surface of Lake Khövsgöl.

The mission organizes demanding, women-only expeditions aimed at raising funds and awareness for vulnerable communities. In their latest journey, a team of nine women spent 10 days trekking more than 25 kilometers daily across the frozen lake, facing extreme conditions with temperatures dropping to -40°C.

This Mongolia expedition is part of a broader series of challenges undertaken by the group. Previous missions have included kayaking in the Arctic, crossing the Namibian desert, trekking through Kyrgyzstan, cycling across Ethiopia, and expeditions in Siberia.

Women on a Mission (WOAM), a non-profit organization founded in Singapore in 2012 and now headquartered in France, focuses on supporting women affected by war, violence, and abuse. The organization raises both awareness and funding for carefully selected partner charities.

Its model is built around an annual campaign and a physically demanding expedition, entirely self-funded by participants, to maximize visibility and charitable impact. WOAM collaborates with established non-profit organizations that already have effective programs in place, particularly those addressing women’s issues.

The initiative continues to highlight the impact of collective action, demonstrating that when women unite behind a shared cause, significant change is possible.
