Historic wedding & event venue influenced by Italian Renaissance style & built in 1927. The Ebell Clubhouse has to two elegant ballrooms, an intimate art salon, lush courtyard garden and is connected to our 1,200 Broadway-style Wilshire Ebell Theater. History of the Ebell:
The Ebell of Los Angeles is a philanthropic organization founded by women, for women in 1894. We are the longest standing women's club in Los Angeles. Originally created for education, art and equality during a time of oppression, the Ebell remains strong today. The club supports dozens of non-profits and scholarships, in addition to hosting special events, live music, dinners and community forums. The motto, “I will find a way, or make one” aligns with its core mission to encourage the educational, cultural and social growth of the diverse Los Angeles community. The revenue we generate by renting out our beautiful clubhouse and theater goes directly to keeping the club going, it keeps our dues low so we are accessible to all women and maintains our venue to be enjoyed by all. Our venue is available for weddings, film productions, fundraisers, theatrical productions, screenings, film and TV premiers, award shows, fashions shows, conferences and so much more. Founded in 1894 by women, The Ebell has witnessed generations of women finding their voices, creating opportunities, and making their mark on Los Angeles.

On Women’s Equality Day, we honor the women who came before us, the women continuing that work today, and those who will carry it forward.

Here’s to the women who opened doors, the women walking through them, and the women holding them open for those who come next.

You can be ambitious and kind. Glamorous and brilliant. Soft and powerful. You can dream beyond the circumstances you were given, make room for others as you rise, and never apologize for being exactly who you are.
 
As an organization founded by women, for women, The Ebell has always believed in the power of women to dream boldly, lift one another up, and leave the world better than they found it. Today, we honor a woman who embodied so much of that spirit.
