Dangerous Encounters: 1st Kind, especially, is a ferocious movie. Where did the rage in that film come from?

TSUI: Those feelings were not unique to me. There was a lot of turmoil and instability in the world back then; a lot of questioning of the need to adhere to regulations and traditions. The kind of rage in that film exists in everyone, to different degrees. If you wanted to say something about the world at that time, that was a natural expression.
