Crowded
Next month, will be hosting my show “Negative Space.” This will be my first Gallery 1 exhibition, and I’m pulling out all the stops for it.
To me, Crowded is a commentary that functions on several different levels. Socially, it’s about isolation despite being surrounded by others. The repetition of the figures creates a sense of familiarity and comfort, but also conformity and emotional suffocation. The lone dark figure becomes a quiet interruption within the pattern — impossible to ignore.
Personally, the painting also reflects the repetitive qualities I consciously incorporate into my work. I’ve been sitting on this idea for years, waiting for the right space for it.
The show opens June 27th, 2026.
Please contact the gallery for more information.

Smoke (2003)
My sister sent me a post with the Chernobyl miniseries artwork, except the title had been swapped out for “Garden Grove.” She said it totally reminded her of this painting.
With a possible disaster hanging over Orange County, it feels like as good a time as any to smoke ’em while you got ’em.

Rabbit On The Moon – Craft Services
(2018)
The final painting from my Rabbit On The Moon series revolves around the conspiracy theory that Stanley Kubrick coordinated with the United States government to create the lunar landing footage.
Drawing from my personal experience doing background work, rather than illustrating the actual filming of the controversial footage, I thought it would be more humorous to bring to life my favorite part of the filmmaking process: the lunch break.
Gathered around the table sit the Jade Rabbit, the astronaut, and Kubrick himself. People have long pointed to the sweater featured in The Shining as a clue to Kubrick’s alleged involvement in the Apollo moon landing footage, so of course I had to make him wear it.

Rabbit on the Moon – The Princess Is Dead (2018)
Riffing off yesterday’s post of my Rabbit on the Moon painting, this is the second piece from the series: The Princess Is Dead.
Growing up in a Chinese household, I was told that there was a rabbit on the moon, but the part about the rabbit serving or doting on a tragic moon princess was never mentioned to me. So by the time I finally learned that part of the mythology as an adult, I already had a moon princess in my mind: Sailor Moon.
For this painting, I felt inclined to illustrate a simple truth: all great human empires eventually end. And with the fall of the Moon Princess, the Jade Rabbit is left alone to tend the ruins.
I think the painting is still available at

Rabbit on the Moon (2018)
With all the recent UFO file releases — including Apollo-related material — I’ve been thinking about this painting I made back in 2018.
The painting mixes Chinese folklore with UFO conspiracy culture by imagining the Jade Rabbit (玉兔) defending the moon from imperialist American astronauts during the disastrous Apollo 18 mission–which honestly might explain why we never went back.
I also scattered in a bunch of classic conspiracy details throughout the piece: black triangles, weird lights, lunar anomalies, and other strange stuff people claim to see in Apollo footage. Funny enough, a lot of it popped up again in the May 8th info dump.

“Forlorn Space Knight” (Luke Chueh Edition)
A long time ago, in a valley far, far away, and I released a series of figures featuring my bear dressed in Jedi-style robes. Rooted in my love for Star Wars, it was both a playful figure and an expression of my fandom.
A super-limited version—with my bear’s hand cut off as a nod to the long tradition of limb-severing in Star Wars lore—was produced for me to release. I’ve been sitting on it ever since. I always tell myself I’ll release it on May 4th, but year after year the date passes, and I’m never quite ready to put it in my store.
Maybe I’ll release it later this year.
The uncut version is still available at DKE Toys.
