On the Name

The name comes from a time when I was a poor student and resentful toward classmates who were not. It's a bit of the "I'll show you!" mentality we often feel when confronted with things that seem unfair and cause jealousy. I don't feel angry toward people who may have it a little easier that me, so long as they are good people. It's not like we are given a choice to some of the privil

eges we are simply born with. As a white person in america, I have a huge amount of privilege, but as a women I still have less than a straight white male. There is a hierarchy built on generations of unfairness. I'd like to take a little time and effort to help steer this ship in a better direction, as best I can.
