So thankful Trotter and Rolling Stone gave me an opportunity to share my love for Juneteenth and my black experience in “A Beautiful Day in Leimert”.

Living while black means that, every day you must strive for this near-perfect existence so that, in the event you are murdered by police, the media can’t later justify it with footage of you stealing candy or jaywalking. Side note: I could feel it in my spirit that there was a snake in that grass. Sure enough it slithered it’s ass pasted my backpack and I damn near died. Bria thought I was being dramatic, but I am deathly afraid of snakes.
