I'll never forget this magical evening seeing at . We lucked out with this front-row table and dined and danced as a storm cocooned the whole space in walls of water with lightning and thunder electrifying the jungle surrounding us. Thanks for an incredible time

Instant satisfaction every time.

I’ve tried a lot of microphone combinations but there’s nothing quite like the combination of .berlin m50’s and u67’s.

Paired with a vintage Neve console like the 8028 at Studio 2 and you have instant magic.

I could write a book on this record, but that’s been done. Taking a detour from their mega-hits and making their only double album, Exile is a journey through the many faces of the Stones (pre-reggae and disco). Dare I say it’s the pinnacle of their swagger-soaked creative output and home to my favorite song of all time.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Side A is the high octane rock ’n roll we’ve all come to expect while side B is conjured from the muddy banks of their deep south influences and can safely be dubbed “The Country Side”. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Sides C and D live somewhere in between where each song is as much its own vibe as they are part of the rickety aural freighter that is simultaneously chugging along while seemingly about to have all of its wheels fly right off.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Although this album should be listened to from start to finish, if I were to cherry-pick songs that are my personal go-to’s we’d wind up with: “Tumbling Dice”, “Sweet Virginia”, “I Just Want to See His Face” and my favorite song ever recorded, “Loving Cup.”⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

It was a true honor to work in the house of Al Schmitt this past week.
I know his magic will carry on in the hearts of those who had the pleasure of knowing him and within the walls of the studios that he graced with his unprecedented skill and passion for the craft. I’d like to think a bit of that magic made it on to our recordings. Thank you for the lessons and for writing the rulebook.

And a big thank you to and the whole team that made this session possible.

It was great to be back at the board with you. Onward and upward!
